Pharmacology

Pharmacology is basically a branch of science that studies the effects of drugs and candidate molecules on living organisms. Preclinically, the effects of drug active substances are examined on disease models created in experimental animals. At the clinical level, drug use, drug side effects and individual differences are investigated in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Within the scope of these studies, sub-branches such as Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacogenomics have emerged. In our faculty, it is aimed to teach students basic information on these subjects and to provide a background where they can follow new developments.

In addition to Pharmacology I, Pharmacology II, Pharmacology III and Pharmacology IV courses, our department offers elective courses such as Drug İnteractions, Drug Use in Special Cases, Substance and Drug Addiction. The Physiology course in the second-year program is also given by our department.
