Pharmaceutical Microbiology
The Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology, located in the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Faculty of Pharmacy, examines the structure and properties of microorganisms that cause disease in humans and microbiological methods used in the diagnosis of these diseases. It also includes the development of various antimicrobial and microbial-based products designed, researching their effectiveness, and the production of new generation vaccines and hormones, antibiotics, vitamins. Microbiological quality control of pharmaceutical preparations and cosmetics, basic and clinical research on bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infection agents are also among the study topics of pharmaceutical microbiology.
Our department aims to train graduates who have a good grasp of the basic concepts in the field of pharmaceutical microbiology, which is a sub-discipline of microbiology, and can use this knowledge effectively in all areas of their profession
